Subject: [Wolves] Latest government web 'snooping' proposals....
To: "Wolverhampton Linux User Group" <wolves at mailman.lug.org.uk>
So, any comments on the latest government snooping proposals? How can
we, as the government's employers, put a stop to this? Once again
they are using the old chestnut of needing the extra power of being
able to check every person's e-mail and web history because of the
threat of terrorism and paedophiles. Yet again, a sledge hammer to
crack a nut. The number of terrorists and paedophiles in society is
actually tiny. By their actions, this government (don't forget Labour
tried the same thing back in 2006) are making us all appear guilty of
some heinous crime. Yet, our justice system is built on the premise
of being innocent unless proven guilty by a proper court of law. Not
guilty unless you can prove other wise from the outset.
