Well my type 5 mouse has always been a little unreliable since I had it.
Perhaps those DIN connectors don't age well.

Yes :) I am most reluctant to let it go, but it's sitting there
collecting dust and it may as well go to a good home. I believe they
were Sun's first hardware to use a PCI bus, standard VGA monitor
connector and PATA disks etc albeit with a Sparc CPU, rather than being
full of weird Sun connectors, buses and SCSI disks.
