Hi folks

Hope you don't mind me posting here... We have a role available for a 
Linux Administrator in Evesham. We're a bit south of Birmingham, but 
there might be some people who it's realistic for  Details as follows:

* Linux Administrator
* Evesham, Worcestershire
* Salary - £30,000 - £35,000

We are a highly successful organisation within the building and plumbing 
merchants industry. We trade from over 400 locations nationwide, employ 
approximately 5,000 staff and have a turnover in excess of £1bn. Our 
businesses or 'brands' are leading merchants and specialists in their 
own fields.
One of these divisions is currently looking to recruit a Linux 
Administrator.
As a Linux Administrator, you will be required to develop new 
infrastructures, upgrade existing systems and carry out third line 
support across Linux and other platforms. You will also be required to 
liaise with team members and other staff as one of the main technical 
resources for Linux based systems.
Proven commercial experience of working with Unix or Linux based systems 
is essential, any additional experience in a programming environment 
would be desirable.
With previous experience in a second or third line support capacity, you 
will possess excellent communications skills and a methodical and 
thorough working approach; utilising your keen eye for continual process 
improvement and ability to research and pick up new technologies easily.
Knowledge and experience of Shell scripting, PHP, MySQL, Apache and an 
understanding of networks and firewalls is essential.
Candidates with an exposure to Cisco (ideally CCNA) and experience of 
Debian, RedHat, Subversion, Asterisk, VoIP, Exim, Windows or IIS/MS SQL 
servers along with an understanding of website infrastructures and patch 
management would also be desirable.
