Hi Mark,

Based on the problems in the area with getting freeview, you would
seem to be fighting too many battles at once.  You may well find that
in a location with a decent signal, you have done everything correctly
(the messages and log extracts you have posted would seem to indicate
that) and that with a decent signal, it may well just spring into
life.  If the neighbours are experiencing problems with professionally
installed external antennas, the chances of success with a DVB-T stick
are somewhat remote given that they tend to have the bare minimum of
electronics (including RF amplification) and do as much as possible in
software.
