A little while ago this guy approached me with a request for a speaker.
Unfortunately I didn't deal with it straight away, and he's got back to
me. I've advised him to post his request to one of the lists, but thought
I'd post here. Anyone fancy having a go at advocacy here?

Subject: East Pennine Centre of the Institution of Chemical Engineers

Hi,

I'm writing on behalf of the East Pennine Centre of the Institution of
Chemical Engineers. We are a voluntary group that organise events for
Chemical Engineers living and working within our region.

Our centre organises monthly evening meetings with guest speakers to
talk on specialist topics. I was wondering if you would be able to
provide, or put me in touch with, somebody who would be able to give a
presentation. (Our provisional date is the 4th April 2007)

Our audience is mainly Chemical Engineers but we do advertise to the
local Mechanical and Electrical Engineering groups. Presentations
attract between 10 and 30 people depending on the topic. I'm looking for
somebody who can put a professional/business edge to open source, but
also show how it can be used at home.

Just for the record, I am a keen Linux and Open Source user and have
been for a number of years.

Regards

Chris Hart
