I asked for that, didn't I? :-D The truth is that I've never used Gnome for
more than a few minutes at a time, so I don't really know what people would be
interested in hearing about.
My main focus of interest is in creating a better interface between developers
and users. Traditionally, this consisted almost entirely of static manuals,
written in docbook. Few people enjoy working in docbook, and generally
manuals were updates an infrequently as possible. What has been done has put
heavy load on a very few people. This is something that a group of us are
working to change.
Over the next few weeks we will be introducing, as the first step, an improved
translation system for userbase. The new system makes both creation and
maintenance of translations much easier, so should attract more willing
translators. Our experiments so far suggest that this is so.
The next stage is that some developers are writing completely new
documentation directly into userbase. That means that translations can occur
almost simultaneously. When the new manuals are complete they can be exported
in a format readable by the docbook tools, so on-line documentation and
distro-released documentation are prepared quickly.
If a talk on this would be of interest, I'd do it. And I'd be willing to talk
about other initiatives, such as the Forum, Klassrooms etc., and answer any
more general questions about KDE at the same time.

To be honest, it's a long time since I came to one, for various reasons,
mostly personal. If such a talk would be of interest to you, let me know. I
can't come to the February meet, as I'll be away, though.
