Greetings all,

Thanks to Aaron for the provocative XML talk and to Neil for the Corba
intro - shame there wasn't time for the bigger demo.

NEW MEETING VENUE

Next Meeting is in Chemistry - actually on Woodhouse Lane, so should be
easier to find. Check out the website,

http://www.wylug.org.uk/intro.html#where

for new details. Walk out of Leeds on Woodhouse Lane, past the Parkinson
building steps, and the next building is Chemistry. Follow the signs on
the door !!

The talks on Monday.....

Smylers will be talking on "Using RT to Keep Track of Bugs, Ideas, Users,
and Your Life in General", RT is a tool that keeps track of things so that
you don't have to. Its origins are in e-mail helpdesks, but it can be
deployed in a wide variety of situations -- software bugs, project
progress, personal todo lists, internal discussions, sales, purchases, and
job applications can all be tracked. 'RT' is particularly suited to
circumstances where communication is predominantly by e-mail, as it can
intercept e-mails and act on them appropriately. This is complemented with
a web-based interface. 'RT' is free. It's written in Perl, and highly
customizable.

Rob will be giving an "Introduction to RPC programming", and from the
sound of it filling the new venue with kit including some of his acorn
stuff!

See you all on Monday,

cheers
Jim

p.s. I eventually got my SBC back and working after a trip round the world
to be repaired under warranty - they replaced a couple of PSU chips used
to generate the low voltages for the CPU core etc.
