ManLUG meetings for July and August 2004
July 17 2004, 14:00, in the usual place, the Lascelles Williams
room on the ground floor of the Kilburn Building at the University
of Manchester. (For more information, see our web site:
http://www.manlug.man.ac.uk, under 'How to find us'.) Reminder:
Please bring a 'photo ID' to show the porters if you are asked.
Thousands of Linux Installations (and only one administrator)
Owen Le Blanc, University of Manchester
Originally Linux distributions concentrated on home users, then
on server installations. Now we need to have Linux on many desktops
but without hiring an army of administrators to look after them.
Is there a scalable solution? I propose one which appears to
work, and which has the advantage of depending on solid
existing technology.
August 21 2004, 14:00, usual place.
No volunteers yet, or at least none committed!
