In September we will run  an update of the well known Evil on the 
Internet given by Richard Clayton.  More about Richard Clayton

The date for the meeting is the 9th of September 2010 at 19:00 hours 
for 19:30 hours.  This will take place at the University of Sheffield, 
Richard Kroto Innovation Centre, Broad Lane, Sheffield S3 7HQ.   Clayton 
who is a computing expert based at the University of Cambridge will 
provide live examples of ‘evil’ websites explaining how they work and 
what is currently known about the criminals who operate them. The talk 
will cover Phishing sites which collect banking credentials; mule 
recruitment websites enticing people into money laundering; fake 
escrow sites defrauding the winners of online auctions; fake banks 
which hold cash for fake African dictators; Ponzi scheme websites 
where almost (but not quite) everyone knows that they’re a scam. This 
event is arranged in conjunction with….
