I would suggest you tend to stay clear of the BT Voyager thingy. A friend has
(had) one and discovered that it's more picky about a good quality ADSL sync
than most.
Mind you, his line wasn't a lot better than a piece of damp string: until the BT
engineer replaced about 1/4 mile of overhead cable (across a field) he couldn't
sync at all, and analogue modem speeds were usually around the 28-30kbit/s mark.
