But I it is a question that's very difficult to answer, as are any questions
to do with benchmarks and performance evaluation.  I almost feel that to
answer that question with a short answer would be worse than not answering at
all, and I don't have the figures or personal experience for the long answer.
Have a look at tomshardware or anandtech for a comparitive review.

Personally I think an ice cream is better, but that's probably affected by the
current weather.

I can tell you that the dual Xeon 3.6 box we've got with 2Gigs of RAM is a
screamer, honestly the fastest thing I've ever used at the desktop.  The
graphics card will help a little with that (Quadro FX 4400), although not
much.  But then I've not used an equivalent AMD64 box to compare it against.
