Hello list,

I'm moving to Leeds in a few months, and thought I should get myself known
to the local GNU/Linux User Group. At the moment, I am based in Exeter, in
Devon and will relocate with my job in August or September.

I've been using GNU/Linux for several years now, mostly in a server
environment, though more recently I have used Debian as a desktop
operating system too. I'm a Mac user for the rest of my time, but a fair
amount of my Mac usage is just a ssh connection into my server. I work for
the NHS, doing Debian and Zope/Plone things, do webmastery for the GNU
Project and the Free Software Foundation, and run a free culture
foundation called CNUK - <http://cnuk.org>

I don't really know much about the area I'll be moving to, I don't even
have a flat or house sorted out yet, so any advice on where to live in
Leeds would be really useful (I'll be working next to the main station, so
I'd like to live fairly close to work as I'm lame and rely on buses and
trains a lot)

My main interest is the web, and I use Zope/Plone/Python for these things.
In my previous life, I was an ASP/VB programmer, but thankfully escaped
them to concentrate on free software.

It is increasingly possible that when I relocate, I will be followed by at
least one, and possibly two of my CNUK cohorts, so I'm looking at two
bedroom places, initially. We're keeping a log of our efforts to move at
<http://leeds.cnuk.org/>

Anyway, introductions over..

matt
