Subject: Re: [Wylug-discuss] Mail Clients
I've just knocked up a script to identify mail client used and let it
loose on around 6-8 months of wylug archives. Here are my results:-
Mail client Messages Users Msg/User
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
Thunderbird 134 34 3.9
Mutt 226 24 9.4
Evolution 149 22 6.8
KMail 285 19 15.0
Outlook 28 16 1.8
SquirrelMail 7 5 1.4
IMP 15 4 3.8
Eudora 6 4 1.5
Sylpheed 15 3 5.0
Internet Mail Service 14 3 4.7
Gnus 13 3 4.3
Lotus Notes 7 3 2.3
Apple Mail 4 3 1.3
WorldClient 8 2 4.0
Open WebMail 4 2 2.0
slrn 24 1 24.0
WWW-Mail 5 1 5.0
Navaho Galium 5 1 5.0
MIME::Lite 2 1 2.0
LycosMail 1 1 1.0
Pegasus 1 1 1.0
GroupWise 1 1 1.0
Total 954 154
which shows that the KMail people are particularly prolific (although
the one slrn user really shows what prolific means....). Shame about
Outlook.
Nigel.
