about an hr delay 

hmm

xinit.lug.org.uk   seems to be the server causing the delays 

ok  been checking this and it looks like sometimes theres more than 3 hrs 
between mail arriving there and leaving to the next server 

btw this is affecting other lug's also

3 hrs , on same server  !!!! 

there is a lug mail server problem there by the looks of it
