I would say the opposite, knowing my own usage and knowing the usage
patterns of other people who aren't quite "the typical Windows user".

Most will, at the moment, just about keep within most caps - but as soon
as MaxDSL takes off, or you start using VoIP or start using BBC streams
(especially the in-trial video ones) or find something else etc. then
you're doomed.

99% of Windows users will be safe, as they just use it for email and stuff
- they probably don't know it can do other things. Caps are there for
people who would probably be better off with a modem, they just want the
web pages to appear faster and not tie up the line.

There are a number of uncapped (ok, a misnomer, if you nail up the line
then they're going to notice) 8M providers if you look - I know of one
doing uncapped 8M for 25/month, unsure if that's a proper product though.

Just don't expect stuff like free connection, free DSL modem, be hand-held
... or to subsidise *cheap* "grab market" capped services.

Not the cheapest, but I'd thought I'd highlight it just because it's not
the average ISP, plus he lives just across the road from me ...
