There is zero reason to do a 35 pass wipe, as Gutmann points out numerous 
times.

I stick to two random+zero - shred -zvn2 /dev/device. shred is available 
on any Linux live CD.

Though it's quite easy to argue just a single zero pass is as good as you 
or I can get with modern PRML etc. drives.
