That's exactly what I did, but I get

keyword "ntp2c.mcc.ac.uk" unknown, line ignored 1 time(s)

Error in configuration file?  Hah!  I can't remember what tool I used to set 
it up, but looking at ntp.conf I see that the address is not preceded by 
'server' and a number.  I'll fix it.  Thanks for pointing me to the solution 
(I hope).
