Dell are usually quite good at publishing their service manuals unlike many
of the other manufacturers.

You should be able to find one for your model on their website via a quick
google or try support.euro.dell.com

I imagine it is probably a pretty straight forwards job.

Subject: [Wylug-discuss] Laptop Backlight Inverter

I think the backlight inverter needs replacing in my laptop. (The screen's
gone exceedingly dim.)

Anybody know of anywhere local which will do this?

Or anybody got experience of doing this themselves? Replacement inverters
seem to be available quite cheaply, so I'm considering ordering one and
getting the screwdriver out, but any wisdom on how fiddly this is would be
appreciated.

It's a Dell Latitude, half a year or so out of its warranty.

Thanks
