I'd agree with this suggestion of going for an option with the
'integrated' graphics only, but for a slightly different reason. I've
got a T500 which I chose partly because it runs very quietly (important
in my use case), but when switched from integrated to discrete graphics
it uses loads more power, with a resulting heat and fan-noise increase.
So I wish I'd saved my money and not got the extra graphics.
