Thanks James, however this will have to wait as I just borked the machine this afternoon, and I don't really know how. A new install of ubuntu 11.04, into a new partition worked, but didn't solve anything, and didn't restore the original. Currently installing federa to give that a go, just out of interest, but still expect the driver issues. Excuse typing as I am now reduced to phone computing.

Yes, but not a particularly tricky one. The MiniPCI slots are generally
accessible without breaking any manufacturers seals. No harder than a
RAM upgrade.
