Yup, though the "free" 3G internet makes it bearable - and more so abroad where
internet access can be pric[e]y where you can't find wifi!
I'm not so keen on the DRM'd (I though?) ebooks from amazon (including where a
set of books are cheaper in dead tree form!), but I find PDFs totally
legible in landscape
mode, if a little annoying when they have columns (read, scroll down,
read, scroll up,
read, scroll down = one page).
I find it easier to read than a screen, I think, though it's difficult to judge.
I have a newspaper subscription on it, but I'm not sure if I'll keep it.
OK so there is a need to power it, and the lifecycle costs, but the
compactness of having it
instead of n books taking up space - especially while travelling, or
moving house - is an
undeniable benefit. Well, unless you like the decorative nature of
bookshelves :)
