[Wylug-discuss] Video cataloging app. / media manager - Recommendations?

Hi all,

I'm not really getting anywhere with google.

I want an app that will scan a filesystem, find all the files in
well-known video packaging formats, extract their metadata (such as it
is), then allow me to tag and catalog them.

I'm feeling the need for good video cataloging cos I've got loads of
video tutorials on topics that I want to research, but I can't
assemble a decent viewing list by merely searching for strings in
filenames.

N.B. Something that also searches IMDB etc would be 'nice to have',
but is not really the point.
