What error message do you get with that one?

Also, from inside Vim, what does this report:

  :echo $VIMRUNTIME

(For me it's /usr/share/vim/vim73.)

Then can you have a look for suitable files in its spell/ subdirectory,
for example with this shell command:

  $ ls /usr/share/vim/vim73/spell/en*sp
