Paul,

Thanks for the chat about ubuntu/debian init scripts.  I tried some of
the changes suggested, eg the "Require-" section to make my script
dependent on the network being up.  However this still didn't seem to
work.  In the end I changed the run sequence number to 99 and that did
the trick.  Thanks for your help.
