[Wylug-discuss] First Meeting Lord Darcy 23rd Feb 2015 WYLUG a success! :)

Hey guys

 

First of all a huge thank you to Darren,  David and Graham for attending
tonight - I truly had visions of abandonment and loneliness sat in the
corner with my pint of Peroni reading this month's copy of Linux Format :P
It's a good read but not that good I'd take it to the pub on my own.

 

It was brilliant to meet you all! So thank you for coming along!

 

For everyone that couldn't attend this evening we met between 1900 and 1930
at the Lord Darcy on Harrogate Road, Alwoodley,  Leeds. Here's a google map

It was decided at the meeting that we would continue and hope to rebuild
attendance numbers by arranging the follow on meetings for the last Monday
of the month. As a result the next meeting was arranged for March 30th 2015
same venue same time.  If 1900 is a bit early for some would a start time of
1930 be more convenient?

 

Although all Linuxy/computing topics are welcome for discussion/advice,  it
was decided at the next meeting that our main focus of attention would be
Docker, what is it? What can it do etc?  Demonstration of its abilities? if
we need virtual machines to demonstrate, I can provide these at the meeting.
Anyone who is well versed in this technology would be greeted with open arms
at the next meeting.  Please come along and help make this event an even
bigger success! :)

 

Let's make these meetings a thriving event once more.  Whilst the open
reaching connectivity of the internet is welcome, there's nothing better
than a drink and some socialising,  in person between friends and making new
ones too.
