Not that I'm pushing any kind of BBC agenda you understand, but www.microbit.org might be useful.
Especially the Code Kingdoms bits and pieces. The best bit is you don't need a Micro:bit to get started.

BTW - there's also a C compiler, but we're not pushing that as the Micro:bit is aimed at inspiring kids who've no prior experience.

sense.open.ac.uk just gives a blank page
