I've just placed an order with demon - who so far have been helpful,
getting thru' to a human was easy, and a techie too.
the demon solo account gives you a fixed IP number.

I concurr with Dave. If my line passes it's BT tests (I have my
doubts) then I'll be buying a cheapo ADSL/ethernet router to
connect to my existing homebrew Linux SBC/firewall router -yeah I know
over kill - but I get the flexibility and control I need opn my linux box.
However I have seen a PCI ADSL card advertised in Linux Journal!
