[Wylug-help] Laptop Keyboard problem

I've been running Fedora on a Japanese Toshiba laptop, and recently
decided to move to Gentoo. I've gone through the entire installation
process without any problems, and on my first boot there were no errors
(amazingly,) but there was no response from the keyboard, so I got to
stare at a nice login prompt.

The bootup process produced no errors, and the keyboard works fine when
booting the LiveCD. I've tried changing the keymap in /etc/rc.conf to
"jp106", then back to "us." I looked through the kernel .config to make
sure I didn't leave any keyboard modules out by mistake.

Any suggestions?
