As a Mandrake user for more than 2 years, this post represents my
personal opinion, based partly on experience and partly on regular
reading of Mandrake lists.

Mixing tools for partition work is not wise. PM is fine for resizing
your windows partitions. Let Mandrake do the rest.

IMO 9.2 is the weakest version of Mandrake for some time - it certainly
seems to have had a lot of problems for a lot of people. 9.1 is
rock-solid, but near EOL as far as support from the company is
concerned. The jury is still out on 10 Official, since it is not yet
publicly available, but my advice would be to wait a week or so when I
would expect that fastdiscs.com will be in a position to offer you
10.0Official. If you don't want to wait, buy the Community Edition
from fastdiscs, then go to urpmi.org/easyurpmi and set up sources for
10.0Official. That will update CE to OE.

Resources to help you - the Mandrake mailing lists, newbie and expert,
and the Community TWiki. My sig will get you to a redirect for the
TWiki.
