Hi James.

You didn't forget, I missed it.

The next thing I'd suggest is looking at the IDE kernal tuning parameters that
you can put into the GRUB conf, maybe to do with DMA or I-O addresses,
although I'd that it'd be the latter.

Looking again at the log you attached, I'd check the IRQ's and the IDEBUS
settings as it suggested.  Maybe a quick Google will help

Does it matter whether it's a warm or cold boot?
