No luck so far, John. I've emailed the guy who often answers questions about
turboprint, but he hasn't replied, so maybe he's away. I looked through some
archives, and the only possible help I've come up with is the following
things that have worked for some.

One man found that turboprint worked correctly for him with the parallel
connection but he always had problems with the usb connection.

I appear to have cracked it.I just altered the print system used setting
in the KDE printer manager from CUPS to Generic Unix lpd system and
Kover will now print OK. I'll be back if there are any more problems
but I think it's sorted.

Several people quoted the problem of 'filter=true' when printing from kde apps
- - that seems to be caused when you print from a gnome app then immediately
afterwards from a kde app, and is solved in the print properties box, filters
tab, remove filter.

I have several times had this 'printer stopped' or 'media tray empty' message
that locks things up. I've never worked out what causes it, but my solution
is to run the CUPS admin tool - I presume that something similar exists in
turboprint? - remove the job that is blocking things up (and it only needs
one to block everything), stop the printer, then restart it.

Sorry I can't come up with anything more specific, and I hope that one of
these gives you a clue as to the cause. If not, see if there is a turboprint
users mailing list, where you'll get more specific support.
