Two pieces of advice:

Compact your folders frequently - especially after deleting a
virus/trojan (3rd party virii-seekers will often rename the whole
Inbox/Folder if they find a virus during a scan, loosing the mail until
you manually rename the folder back)

Don't use the RSS reader on anyone (like /.) who throttle your
RSS-grabs. The "timer" mechanism for RSS pulls sucks, it pulls "too
often" and frequently gets banned.
