Hi guys,
I'm a regular visitor to WYLUG (& lurker in WYLUG-help).
Last year we had a great talk on the nuts-&-bolts of how mail is sent.
It was shown how easy it was to send spam.
I'm very interested in attempting to block spam to my home email (I'm
with Plusnet & me & my wife now get spammed to death).
How is it recommended that I do this? I have a Debian based fileserver
that also does a few other bits & pieces. Should I set up a mailserver
as well?
The choice is confusing. Would Postfix & Dspam do the trick, or is there
a more suitable combination?
I have never set up a mailserver before & I am unsure how this works.
Am I correct in assuming that postfix would poll my provider for each
mail account & retrieve all mail, storing it locally in relevant mailboxes?
Cheers guys.
