Welcome Nick,
Use EXT3. There is very little to compel most of us to use XFS or
Reiser.
Having lost data using Reiser, XFS and EXT3 I can confirm it's a whole
world easier to recover data from EXT3.
However I do use XFS on a RAID card and it works but I only use it for
unimportant (ie: not livelihood) stuff like virtual machines.
