[Wylug-help] "effective" memory checker?

I have a much used (ie. old) Athlon based system (Asus A7V), still
running Red Hat 7.x, which occasionally freezes with the only recourse
being the hardware reset.

It is running 24/7 and the freezes sometime happens every few
months. normally every few weeks and very occasionally every few days.

Looking back (a long way) problems started several months after I replaced
its original memory with three (new) Kingstons.

Clearly, if this is a memory problem, the full BIOS checks is inadequate to
spot it. Does anyone know of an adequate (stand-alone) memory check which
might isolate the problem or am I going to have to swap out the memories
one by one and wait for the next event?

Andrew

btw the only sure fire way to induce a freeze is to run a large, and full,
XP image (VMware) but even then it may take several days of use
before it freezes (usually when some MS crud runs in the middle of
the night!) - suprisingly running several MS images doesn't seem to
    accelerate the freezing process.
