We were in a similar situation t'other month. Rescued an old proliant
server from another part of College to play with (similar spec to
yours).
I think the link below should find you a smartstart disk (apologies if
you've since found it)
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/site/search/r4_0/jsp/search.jsp?lan
g=en&cc=uk&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=316590&tx=smartstart&sc=2&cf=1&
nh=10&rf=0&lkc=1&lk=1&sts=51
Once you configure the underlying stuff (raid controllers and what-not
all done with the smartstart wizard) it should be straightforward to get
your OS on.
I'm a bit of a kit-whore and I hate to throw things away...I used ours
to play about with vmware images - perversely I installed Windows XP as
a virtual machine and it ran tolerably well over an rdp session.

When I said skipped I mean it was to be skipped as they had upgraded the
servers so I asked for it. Unfortunately I have no idea on the model
server it is, I have looked all over it and I can't get hold of the
bloke I got it off nearly a year ago.
