I don't know why it's using IPv6 addresses because they are not in use on the 
server or my network.

When configuring the network while doing the install I unticked the IPv6 
options, and checking the network settings that still appears to be the case.

When setting up the smb.conf I did it manually using vim rather than using 
system-config-samba.  The settings I used are based on the two FC5 based 
servers I'm replacing with a single FC9 server, with changes where necessary.

I even tried the traditional Microsot solution and uninstalled the samba RPM's 
and re-installed.
