Hi,

You may have noticed that I need to backup some partitions.

Do do so, I've installed 5 new drives on an additional SATA controller
card (PCI-X).

lspci detects the controller and the kernel loads the sata_mv module.

Unfortunately, no extra disk device files appear to be created and no
error messages appear in the relevant logs.

lspci output:

05:01.0 SCSI storage controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. MV88SX6081 8-port SATA II PCI-X Controller (rev 09)
Subsystem: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Device 11ab

        Region 2: I/O ports at d000 [size=256]
        Region 3: [virtual] Memory at ed000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at 80000000 [disabled] [size=4M]
        Capabilities: <access denied>
        Kernel driver in use: sata_mv
        Kernel modules: sata_mv

Any ideas?

Dave
