My current situation is the kino has captured the video, but it plays
back a 4 minute video in around 5 seconds. There looks to be a
reasonable number of frames, so I guess that somewhere I need to find
the frames per second setting. Until I sort that, I don't know
whether any editing is required or not. Certainly it needs to be
something fairly simple.
I was asked if I could get it off the camcorder so that it could be
used in a PowerPoint presentation - and I'm not sure how that works.
I know that if I created an .avi it can be read under Windows, but
.avi files are very big, and not ideal for that purpose, I think.
However, if I had an .avi I could use mjpegtools to convert it to a
form writeable to DVD - I've done that part before, though it's a long
time ago.
More googling led me to find and download usb drivers that would
enable the video camera to work in Windows 7 using the supplied
software (after applying the Win 7 update). I have the .inf and .sys
files, but haven't a clue what to do with them - the camcorder doesn't
get listed in Device Manager at all.
I don't really care whether I use Windows or Linux - I just want a
solution to get this off my hands.
What would you do, in my position?
Anne
