[YLUG] Install practice

Hi,
Thanks for all the offers from various volounteers. The install
practice session will be held at the Computer Recycling Project at
Vanbrugh College, University of York, this Sunday (22nd) at 2pm. I
expect it to last around three hours, depending on how well the
technology treats us.

For this to work, we could really do with a local repository and
customised installation instructions. I don't have the skills, or the
time to learn the skills, to do this - I'm hoping some brave list
member can supply a suitably-configured server on the day. The
repository should contain the additional packages needed beyond what's
provided on the CD. The following guide gives the names of the
packages that would be needed:

We may want to whittle that down to only a few, I've given a short
list on:

I can't guarantee that we'll be able to use the campus network from
Computer Recycling on Sunday to download additional packages, but I'll
try my best to arrange it. Please shout if you're able to do this,
it's the bit that I'm most anxious to get in place. The "Equipment"
page on the wiki should be updated once we've worked out what's going
on with the server situation.

Directions are given on this crispy-pancake flavoured website:

Anyone getting lost on the day, call 07773 245614 and I'll try to guide
you in.
