If we are to give people a choice then we should have a demo of Gnome &
KDE running on a couple of systems. 

If install candidates show a preference for one or the other (or some
other system) then we should help them install it, but if they have no
preference or are confused by the question :P then we should give them a
reasonable & usable default system.

I'd be inclined to pick KDE as the lesser of 37 evils because it does
seem a better system, or at least some of the more visible applications
(amarok, k3b) seem to be better than their Gnome equivalents. I expect 
we'll probably give people firefox, thunderbird & openoffice
anyway.
