If Gavin is pimping FreeBSD, I should probably also point out that The
Honeynet Project are also participating in GSoC 2011 too, with some of
the mentors/org admins local to York:

Although the time line doesn't align perfectly with UK academic term
dates, we'd also be very happy to hear from local students too. There
