[Bradford] G3 Mac's and linux

Hiya

does any body have experience that I can pick at installing *nix on a blue
and white G3 Mac

I've tried the ubuntu and debian ppc CD's and it can't find my hard drive :(
and modprobe'd every driver module in modules dir

I know it's there and works as I can boot in to OSX with it
