Edlin? Ouch! Vi does seem pretty archaic but some of the commands
available to perform multiple operations at once are supremely useful; ViM
is still a much better choice in that respec though.

I always end up using EDIT.COM on any Win32 box simply because it displays
line numbers -- can't believe that's still not in Notepad.
