Linux is not that difficult to install these days, so unless someone is
having major problems with exotic hardware or some real newbies join (if
they aren't scared off straight away) there isn't any real value for the
group as a whole.

If you really want to concentrate of installation, pick a specialised distro
like LEAF (Linux based router on a floppy), or the PVR project I highlighted
a while ago, or concentrate of building a particular type of box e.g. a
server, and firewall, a router, a proxy, a web/mail/ftp server. Yes, I know
they are all straight forward and only require a few clicks on some of the
distros, but  personally I prefer to know what, how and why something is
running. A sensible attitude as the connected world grows...
