[Cumbria] Lear by the mistakes of others (mine :o)

Just spent literally most of the weelend downloading and
compiling/installing kde 3.1rc6.

started with the latest qt, swiftly followed by arts, kdelibs, kdebase,
multimedia, graphics etc...

get on the internet in konqueror, and to my confusion, 'the web' (tm) didnt
look right...there wernt many graphics?!?!?!?

had a scout about (google is your friend) and it turns out that due to
licensing issues blah blah blah, qt defaults to to '-no-gif' so you must
add '-gif' to ./configure.  so now i have to recompile the whole lot (i
think), which is unlikely, as the binaries for 3.1 final will be due out in
a week, so i think i'll wait until then.
