[cumbria_lug] KDE 3.2 beta

Just tried the KDE 3.2 beta on Fedora...

Now, anyone who's been on this list for a while or been to the meetings
will know I'm a strong Gnome supporter. After seeing 3.2 on Adam's box
at the last meeting, and finding some official (from KDE) RPMs for
Fedora, I thought I'd give it a try.

Overall, I'm very impressed. It has some very annoying quirks (it's
locked up completely a couple of times) although I'm not sure if they
are there because it's a beta, or because of the RPMs, but it's left me
wanting more. It's a very well integrated desktop - all of the
applications play very well together and tend to use features from each
other rather than re-implement them. I only tried the basic stuff -
Konquerer (the source of most of the lockups), Kopete, Kontact etc.
Didn't get onto KOffice - that's for another day.

My next plan is to build it from source, just because!

Cheers,
