[dundee] Gnome failure/gutsy

   after login to ubuntu gutsy
   I can see only background
   with no icons or panels.
   Clicking with mouse doesn't help.
   I was trying to place some files
   in linux partitions as I can see it
    from my windows and that might have messed things.
   There is a problem with gnome obviously
   but I dont know how to fix it.
   Can I reinstall gutsy without data loss?
   Any ideas how ot repair it ?
   Maybe some commands for gnome in safemode ?
