so your had your dns pointed to your local g/w rather than
the internets!!? ??

yikes..

well, remember an expert is someone who has made lots
of mistakes in a very small field.

the tc stuff is easy..just make sure you've got someway
of know what packets are flowing.

perhaps I'll pay you a visit.

I got it sorted, it was a dns problem
as in I hadn't installed any dns forwarding packages
For now I just have dnsmasq and I've removed dhcpd.
My next mission if I choose to accept it: traffic control
Hmmm... somehow I feel like I've gone 'round in circles...
