[dundee] Ubuntu Install RAID 1 + LVM is a no go..

I've never used LVM.

I've setup RAID both after and during OS install (CentOS & Fedora)

I wonder why LVM is trying to partition your RAID array? Not really
familiar with it, but wouldn't the RAID array just be a member of a
Logical Volume Group?...
